How to solder circuit board?

Step 1: Mount the component

  • Firstly, insert the leads of LED into the holes of the circuit board
  • Then, flip the board and make an angle of 45° outwards of the bend leads.
  • It’s made a better connection between components and also prevents falling out during solder.

Step 2: Heat the joint

  • Turn on and heat the soldering iron at 400°F.
  • At the same time, you should touch the tip iron to the copper pad and resistor lead at a point.
  • To heat the pad and lead, hold soldering iron for 3-4sec at that point.

Step 3: Apply solder to joint

In this step,  you need to apply solder during the holding iron between pad and lad.

Step 4: Snip the leads

  • Now it’s time to remove the soldering iron and cool down the solder for a few minutes.
  • Don’t touch solder before enough melt in being hot. The remaining too cool solder is the reason behind the bad joint.

The perfect temperature is 400°F for solder on a circuit board. It’s possible to set your temperature between 600-650°F.
